KAZBEG CLIMBING TOUR
Duration: 8 Days. Best season: August-October
Level: UIAA grade II
Georgia is a country of mountains over 5000m in height-an ideal place for climbers.
Mt. Kazbegi – an inspiration for poets and writers is featured in Greek myths and Georgian legends. Climbing this beautiful perpetually snow-covered peak of the Caucasus is sure to be anunforgettable experience.
Day 1: Tbilisi-Stepantsminda
In the morning we meet a mountain team and
travel along the Georgian Military highway. We reach the town of Stepantsminda. Overnight in the town(guesthouse or a hotel).
Day 2: Stepantsminda– Meteorological Station
We begin our ascent of Mt. Kazbegi with a 9-10 hour walk up to the meteorological station at 3600m. Overnight at meteorological station.
Day 3: Acclimatization
We take a gentle climb around the meteorological station to get acclimatised.
Day 4: To the Summit
Well before sunrise we begin the ascent to the top of Kazbegi at 5047m.The round trip takes14-16 hours.
Day 5: Free(extra) day
After tiring climb, this is a day to
relax. If the weather is bad on day 5, the ascent
will take place today instead.
Day 6: Meteorological Station – Stepantsminda
From the meteorological station we return to the town of Stepantsminda. Overnight in Stepantsminda(Guesthouse or a hotel).
Day 7: Stepantsminda– Tbilisi
In the morning we drive to Tbilisi. Tbilisi sightseeing tour. Overnight in in Tbilisi(Hotel).
Day 8: Transfer to the airport of Tbilisi.

All climbs are accompanied by an experienced mountain team to ensure your safety. We can also provide all nessesary gear needed for the climb.
