During this tour program you will visit most important historical monuments and all UNESCO  heritage sites in Georgia. Enjoy the views of the highest mountains of the country in Svaneti region. Learn about medieval Georgian art and culture and attend a local folklore shows! This itinerary is also perfect to be combined with natural wine tastings and meals at a family run natural wineries in different regions of Georgia. You will learn about Kvevri and Georgian traditional wine making technique which is oldest in the world and is listed by UNESCO in its world's intangible heritage list.

Tour itinerary:

Day 1. Arrival

Arrival. Meet in the airport and transfer to a hotel in Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi

Day 2. Tbilisi city tour

Visit old part of the town. Metekhi church - take a cable car to the Narikala fortress - Botanical garden - Leghvtakhevi waterfall -Abanotubani (Suphur bath district) - Maidan square - Sharden street - Great Synagogue of Tbilisi - Statue of Tamada - Konka (old tram of Tbilisi) - Caravanserais - Sioni cathedral where we will see St. Nino's original vine cross - Erekle II street-Bridge of Peace - Rike park -Anchiskhati - oldest church of Tbilisi - Gabriadze theater - Statue of Berikaoba - Freedom square and Rustaveli avenue - the main artery of Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi. Hotel (B)

Day 3. Tbilisi - Mtskheta - Organic winery - Gelati monastery - Bagrati cathedral - Tskaltubo

Tbilisi - Jvari monastery (UNESCO 6th century monument) -Mtskheta - Svetitskhoveli cathedral (UNESCO 11th century monument - lunch in a local cafe - Ubisa monastery - Gelati monastery (UNESCO 12th century architectural complex) with beautiful mosaic from 12th century - Kutaisi - Bagrati cathedral -Tskaltubo. Overnight in Tskaltubo. Hotel (B)

Day 4. Tskaltubo - Prometheus cave - Martvili canyon - organic winery - Museum of Mestia

Tskaltubo - Prometheus cave - Martvili canyon - lunch and wine tasting at an organic winery - drive to Svaneti - photo stops on the way - Mestia - museum of Mestia with amazing artifacts from the middle ages - visit traditional Svanetian tower and a dwelling from 14th century in Mestia - Overnight in Mestia. Day 5. Mestia - Nakipari St. George's church - Ushguli - Lamaria monastery - Shkhara glacier - Mestia

Mestia - village Nakipari - visit 10th century St. George's church with beautiful frescoes painted by the royal painter Teodore in 12th century - Ushguli - visit Svanetian towers (UNESCO world heritage site) - lunch - visit  Lamaria monastery from the 9th century - walk to the foot of the highest peak of Georgia Shkhara (5058m) - drive back to Mestia. Day 6. Mestia - Enguri dam - Dadiani palace - pottery market -Gori-Stalin's house-Uplistsikhe-Ateni

Mestia-Enguri Dam which was inscribed in the list of cultural heritage of Georgia in 2015 - Zugdidi - Dadiani palace - lunch in a local restaurant-Gori-Stalin's house museum - Uplistsikhe rock hewn town - Ateni - Overnight in Ateni. Winery&Guesthouse. (BDW)

Day 7. Ateni -Borjomi - Akhaltsikhe - Rabati fortress - Khertvisi -Vardzia

Ateni - Borjomi - walk in the central park of Borjomi - Akhaltsikhe -Rabati fortress and museum - lunch - Khertvisi fortress - Vardzia - walk in the cave monastery of Vardzia dating from the 12th century, associated with the greatest female ruler of Georgia - the Queen Tamar. You will find the fresco of the Queen and her father in the main church of the Assumption - Overnight in Vardzia. Guesthouse(BDW)

Day 8. Vardzia - Organic winery - Tbilisi

Vardzia - Tsedisi - lunch and wine tasting at an organic winey, introduction of the Kvevri wine making technology, which is listed by UNESCO  in its intangible world heritage list - drive to Tbilisi.  Overnight in Tbilisi. Hotel (BLW)

Day 9. Airport transfer

Transfer from the hotel to the international airport of Tbilisi (B).
