Culinary And Wine Tour 8 Days

If you would like to get a real taste of Georgia, this tour is the best opportunity. We will visit bakeries, cheese farms and monasteries where they make different types of cheese, honey, chocolate etc. 

Visit natural winemaker families in different parts of Georgia and try their food and wine. Taste Georgian beer in the small breweries.  Cook popular local dishes: Khinkali and Elarji. Bake Georgian bread and make candle-shaped candy Churchkhela.

Day 1. Arrival

Meet in the airport and transfer to a hotel in the old part of Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi. Driving time: 30 min

Day 2. Kakheti region - Bread bakery - Beer brewery - Natural wine tastings with lunch - Kisiskhevi Wine Château

Tbilisi - Badiauri - stop for the local bread bakery to see how Georgian traditional bread is baked - Qedeli community - taste 3 types of Georgian beer brewed in a local brewery - Sighnaghi - wine tasting and lunch at a natural winery-walk on the historical wall of Sighnaghi to enjoy the views of Alazani valley and Great Caucasus Mountains - Tsinandali palace - Kisiskhevi - Overnight in Kisiskhevi. Driving time: 4 hours.

Day 3. kakheti region cheese factory - Biodynamic winery - lunch and wine tasting with Khinkali cooking class in Alvani - Tbilisi

Kisiskhevi - Kurdghelauri - visit to a cheese factory and taste locally produced cheese - Rusipiri - wine tasting at a biodynamic winery - Alaverdi monastery - Zemo Alvani - lunch and wine tasting at a family run natural winery-cooking class of Khinkali (Georgian traditional dumping) - Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi. Driving time: 3 hours

Day 4. Javakheti region - Foka nunnery - cheese tasting - Vardzia local farm in Vardzia

Tbilisi-Dashbashi canyon-Foka nunnery-lunch and cheese tasting at the nunnery-Paravani lake-Saghamo lake-Khertvisi Vardzia-explore the cave town of Vardzia dating from the 12th century. Overnight in Vardzia at a farmer's guesthouse and try locally produced food and wine.  Driving time: 4 hours 30 min

Day 5. Imereti region - natural wineries with lunch - Gelati monastery - dinner and more wine tasting with Khachapuri cooking class in Tskaltubo

Vardzia - Ubisa monastery - Kvaliti- wine tasting and lunch in Kvaliti at a family run wine cellar - Nakhshirghele -wine tasting at another organic winery - Gelati monastery - Kutaisi - Tskaltubo - dinner at a local family where you will try Khachapuri (Georgian cheese bread) cooking class and taste locally produced wine. Overnight in Tskaltubo. Driving time 5 hours

Day 6. Samegrelo region - Prometheus cave - Martvili canyon -Organic winery and Megrelian cuisine with cooking class - Tbilisi

Tskaltubo-Prometheus cave - explore the cave-drive to Martvili - visit Martvili canyon - after short boating in the canyon visit Oda family natural winery and have lunch and wine tasting of Megrelian wines - cooking class of Elarji (Traditional Megrelian cornmeal with Sulguni cheese) - Shrosha pottery market - Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi. Driving time 6 hours

Day 7. Tbilisi culinary city tour

Tbilisi city tour - visits to the 3 best restaurants with cooking classes and tastings. Overnight in Tbilisi. Driving time 1 hour

Day 8. Departure

Transfer to the airport of Tbilisi. Driving time 30 min
