Kartli Region Wine Tour 2 Days

The peculiarity of the Kartli wine region terroirs and the grape varieties leads to the production of very high-quality still and sparkling wines.  We will take you to the best wine artisans of the region and to the hospitable and beautiful wine guesthouse. 

Day 1.

Tbilisi - drive to Mtskheta - visit two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Jvari monastery  from the 6th century and  Svetitskhoveli cathedral from the 11th century - drive to village Tsedisi via Gori (optional stop to see the house of the infamous dictator and mass murderer J. Stalin) - visit a local natural wine maker in Tseidisi and have a lunch and wine tasting (5 types of wine)  - drive to Ateni - check in at a local Winery & Guesthouse located in the hills and forest - rest - in the evening enjoy a dinner and more natural wine with the hosts - Overnight in Ateni. Driving time: 2 hours.

Day 2.

Ateni - drive to Uplistsikhe - explore the ancient cave town from the 7th century BC where guests will see an ancient wine presses curved in a rock - drive to Khidistavi - wine tasting at a local family run natural winery - drive to Kaspi - visit Samtavisi cathedral - visit a local natural wine maker and have lunch and wine tasting (3 types of wine) - drive back to Tbilisi. Driving time: 2 hours
