Inspiring and unforgettable

Look no further if you are seeking exceptional professionalism, exciting adventures and simply great fun. I was fortunate to spend 4 wonderful days in Svaneti with Giorgi. He went above and beyond the expectations at every step, taking much care to understand our wishes and finding best ways for us to discover and fall in love with Georgia. Giorgi is one of the best guides I have ever met. In addition to his expertise, reliability and knowledge about Georgia, he is also a genuine, kind, open and curious person with a great sense of humour with whom it is a pleasure to share a drive or (several glasses of) wine. Your trip will make you think, question, laugh, it will change you and you will definitely want to come back.

Pirayanis from Bangkok, Thailand:

Perfect family trip in Georgia & Armenia. Best private tour guide!!

We brought our parents to Georgia & Armenia for 10 days. Everything is PERFECT. I contacted Georgi prior to the trip and asked for his help to arrange private tour guides for both Georgia and Armenia, driver and mini-bus. Giorgi is very responsive and reliable. He always responded emails promptly. There were a few times I made changes on our itinerary and Georgi tried his best to facilitate us.

We had the fantastic trip (actually it's even beyond my expectation). Our Guides - Ilia (Georgia) and Vard (Armenia) are wonderful. They are knowledgable, informative, caring, punctual, and flexible. Both of them explained the history and the culture insightfully and interestingly. They took care of us very friendly but at the same time professionally. They also tried their best to make sure we enjoy the trip and visit all the places we had in the itinerary even that meant that they had to accompany us until late night. Unlike other tours I experienced in the past, there was not even a minute that I felt we were rushed, instead Ilia and Vard spent time with us to give us the information and take care of us. The driver - Gocha is also amazing, punctual, and polite. It was quite a long drive from Tbilisi, Yerevan, to Kutaisi and back to Tbilisi but he managed to drive professionally and safely. The mini-bus is new, in very good condition and clean.

We had an incredibly wonderful 10 days trip. Thanks so much to Expert Guides Georgia. You guys are the best!!

Unforgettable tour with amazing guide!

My husband and I have just returned from a tour of 15 days in Georgia and 5 days in Armenia. All the details of the trip across the two countries was organised and coordinated by the owner of Expert Guides Georgia, Giorgi, who was prompt and precise with emails. The itinerary was well planned and balanced to suit our requirements. Giorgi was a relaxed, amicable, caring, genuine and conscientious person with playful humour. He was passionate and knowledgeable on all things about his country. We were treated like family to Giorgi who accompanied us through a very enjoyable and memorable trip. We highly recommend Expert Guides Georgia to anyone wanting to tour Georgia.

Great Guiding!

We had Teona for one day for a Tbilisi city tour and she was very charming relaxed and supremely knowledgeable; an excellent guide all round. For other two days when we visited Gori and the Stalin museum and a fascinating winery we had Georgi who was enormous fun, very knowledgeable and a fascinating conversationalist. If you like to get a really good understanding of the place its people and politics these are the people for you. They went out of their way to accommodate us.

We had an amazing 10 day tour in Georgia!

We had an amazing 10 day tour in Georgia with this company. Giorgi picked us up day 1 and took us through several attractions. He was prompt, profession and personable and we had a great day with him. We then met with his trekking guide, Lasha and spent the next 9 days travelling to Mestia, trekking from Mestia to Ushguli and then driving back to the wine region. Lasha was accomodating and hospitable and so helpful while we were hiking.

Giorgi was communicative with email prior to our arrival and created several different itineraries for us as our plans changed. Would highly recommend this company!

World class!

I just returned from an independent tour of the Caucasus and, in both Georgia and Armenia, found outstanding operators. I spent 4 1/2 days with Expert Guides Georgia (1. Tbilisi, Borjomi, Khertvisi and Vardzia. 2) rafting near Borjomi, Ananuri, drive to Stepandsminda; 3) Juta Valley, Gveleti waterfall and Gergeti Trinity Church; 4) parasailing at Gudauri and return to Tbilisi; 5) transfer to Armenian border.
Giorgi is quick but comprehensive in response to planning emails and really helped me get the most out of limited time. Both he and Teona are excellent guides who are eager to share their country with travelers. Expert Guides Georgia is reasonably priced for the high quality of their services and I can wholeheartedly recommend them. This is a Tripadvisor "find" that richly deserves their good reputation.

Five star trip through Georgia!

I got recommended Expert Guides Georgia through the Georgian National Tourism Organisation to do 14 days individual trip with some side trips to Caucasus mountain areas. I was more than satisfied with the services of EXPERT GUIDES GEORGIA. A lot of knowledge culturally and from nature, very good schedule which covered all the diversity of the country starting from culture to churches, mountains, black sea area up till Georgian life. They gave me even a lot of options for hikes and activities, very flexible in daily schedule. EXPERT GUIDES GEORGIA choose very very nice personal guest houses to get closer to Georgian culture - and Georgian food and wine! Excellent choice, look forward to come back and explore with Expert Guides Georgia some more hidden secrets of this beauty along the Caucasus mountains.

Poul from Aarhus Denmark:

Excellent and exciting 3 day trip into Georgian nature!

Expert Guides were an excellent provider of a guided 3 day into the Vashlovani natural reserve in Georgia.
Giorgi was communicative and helpful with planning, responding promptly to emails throughout the planning phase. Special food requirements were accommodated well and we received a thorough plan for our trip.

Giorgi had recruited 2 excellent drivers with 4x4 vehicles to complement his own vehicle to transport our 13 man strong group around, and the help of an expert ranger who was very knowledgeable in the animal and plant life of the areas we visited.

Unfortunately the weather would that the initial plan could not be completed, however that did not stop the Expert Guides team from improvising and providing us with many great experiences, vistas and views in other areas than the planned ones.

We all left our tour feeling like a group of friends, having experienced rare vistas that excited our ranger guide of 15 years' experience, and sitting around the campfire at night swapping tales and experiences from our travels and homelands.

Highly recommend Giorgi and his Expert Guides - the name does not lie!

Andrea from London UK:

Our unforgettable first visit to Georgia!

Our group of friends spent a wonderful 2 weeks across the country via a custom tour organised and guided by the team at Expert Guides Georgia.

Giorgi's expertise and professionalism was evident already during the preparation for our trip: he helped create a perfect holiday plan which included a blend of city visits (Tbilisi, Zugdidi, Kutaisi), cultural highlights (Napoleon's death mask), high quality hotels and guest houses within our budget, excellent food and wine tastings in the Kakheti region, as well as some great hiking and horse riding in the Svaneti region.

During our trip, Giorgi shared his detailed knowledge of the history of the country and shared his personal stories about the local culture. We loved the opportunities to meet with local people and experience the daily life in Georgia, such as traditional winemakers, a village baker, a village family and showed us expertly around in hidden corners of monasteries, churches in cities while adopting to the needs and interests of our group. Pick-up transfers and transportation throughout our tip was extremely comfortable and all included.

On most long trips unexpected changes happen - Giorgi handled these request flexibly and professionally - he accommodated 2 more of our friends to join in midway into the tour, helped book hotels and trains last-minute and always was reachable. We also appreciated his recommendations for fabulous wine restaurants, him being generous with his time and joining us for many of the dinners and drinks - we felt that we got to know a new friend and a truly knowledgeable, inspiring person. Thanks Giorgi for being amazing!

Lasha, who was our guide from the team in the Svaneti region and who is local from the area, was truly professional as a guide, always focused on safety first when driving between villages, guiding us when hiking in the high mountains or when exploring the Ushguli area while horse riding. He took great care about the natural environment (eg. cleaning up rubbish from the hiking path as we passed) and greeted locals in villages as his and our friends. It was rewarding to see a careful, sustainable attitude to tourism.

We are thankful to the Expert Guides Georgia team and Giorgi, Lasha for their efforts to make our first visit a wonderful memorable experience. Will definitely recommend the team to anyone wanting to get a flavour of the country and local culture through these lovely, expert guides!

Sheron from Toronto, Canada:

Fun-filled tour around the country!

My husband and I visited Georgia last May and got the contact for this company through a friend. We loved our guide and our trip so much that we returned for a week's holiday in early Feb. We have now recommended this company to other friends as well. Everything ran smoothly right from beginning - with the planning of the trip, the little logistical arrangements and most importantly the very informative and fun tours. They plan everything meticulously. We did the city tour of Tbilisi, the wine tours, stayed in guesthouses in beautiful small towns, drove all around the countryside, and visited the many, many monasteries and forts.
Overall, there wasn't really a single glitch. In my experience in other countries, tour guides can be either boring and kinda stuffy, running through all the info, or they can be over the top, overselling everything. For once, we can honestly say that our guides in Georgia have now become our friends as well!

Rich from Los Angeles, USA:

Amazing experience!

My wife and I had the best time traveling with Giorgi and Expert Guides Georgia. We went just the two of us with Giorgi for 8 full days, and we had an amazing experience because of him. Usually we’re the kind of travelers who plan everything ourselves, from car rental to restaurant. Here we decided to go with a guide because the driving conditions are rough, we don’t know the language, and there’s generally just so much to see that we didn’t want to waste time trying to figure it out. Giorgi handled everything perfectly. He built us an itinerary, which we reviewed and edited together many times before finalizing. He took care of almost all hotel, restaurant, sight seeing, and wine tasting accommodations. I say almost because some of the accommodations we wanted to handle ourselves. And he was remarkably organized, allowing us to be as lazy as we wanted. Which was crazy to us because we’re so used to having an itinerary with us when we travel. This time we just brought our passports.

We were never bored. We saw a ton of things that we wanted to see because Giorgi took so much time to discuss with us our interests, tastes and preferences. He was the only guide who didn’t just send us a blanket itinerary that you can tell is pretty much the standard one most polyester tourists will settle for. He just asked us what we’re in to, what we like, why we want to be in the country, etc and then planned an amazing adventure for us.

We ate in delicious restaurants that were catered to locals, not tourists (and we are food snobs). We visited boutique wineries that were truly unique, that had a story, and that had a local owner/winemaker that came and hung out with us and made us crazy meals while we tasted (I am in the wine industry, and I can confidently say Giorgi knows how to cater to enophiles). We camped in remote mountains and barbecued over fires that we’d built together over rocks and wood that we collected in the forest. We even had a meal and drank wine at Giorgi’s house. It was such an authentic and beautiful experience.

Also, his english is perfect. And he is a super smart, energetic, and extroverted dude. There was never a dull moment. Always full of conversation, stories and jokes. We really loved our experience in the country, and it was all thanks to Giorgi and Expert Guides Georgia. I would change nothing about this adventure he created.

Casandra from Sydney, Australia:

If I could give more than 5 stars I would!!

Giorgi organised an amazing tour for us with himself and his friend Ilo driving. Giorgi is very energetic and knowledgeable about all things Georgia (I am also pretty sure he knows everyone!) Ilo is a complete gentleman and also very patient.

Both Giorgi and Ilo were fantastic guides/drivers during our journey. They made sure we were comfortable and entertained while they drove us around showing us their amazing homeland.

Georgia is a beautiful country filled with many different climates and landscapes. I can't wait to come back. I would recommend a tour with Giorgi to anyone!
